A native player for your Jellyfin, Plex, and Stremio library on Android TV and Mac

If you run Jellyfin or Plex, or you watch through Stremio-style addons, you've already solved the hard part: knowing what's available and where to get it. The weak link is often the last step — a player on the TV that plays all of it at full quality without stumbling.

The player is a separate problem from the source

A media server and an addon protocol are catalogs: they organize titles and hand your player a stream. They don't decode video. That's why you can have a perfectly good library and still hit buffering on a 4K file, a dead playback error on an unusual codec, or subtitles in the wrong language — those are the player's job, and many built-in ones are the compromise, not the strength.

Sipario is that player, and only that player. It hosts nothing and ships no catalog. You point it at the sources you already have and it plays them.

What plugs in

• Jellyfin and Plex. Built-in bridges connect to your own server, so your library shows up with watched state and resume.
• Addons. Sipario speaks the same addon protocol most third-party catalogs already use, so the sources you configure resolve to streams it plays.
• Live channels. Point it at your M3U or HLS playlists and they play through the native player with a guide. A lineup of free public channels is included so it works out of the box.
• Files and URLs. A local file or a bare link plays too.

What you get that a built-in player often doesn't

• Everything decodes. The player core is mpv, so Dolby Vision, TrueHD, DTS-HD, HEVC, AV1, and PGS subtitles all play — the formats that make other apps fail.
• Your language, every time. Audio and subtitle language preferences are remembered and re-applied on every title.
• A remote-first TV app. The Android TV app is native Jetpack Compose, not a web page in a wrapper — menus stay responsive under a held D-pad, verified up to 4K on a $20 box.
• One brain across devices. Pair your Mac and TV once and your sources and library stay in sync, end-to-end encrypted, with no login.

What it isn't

Sipario doesn't replace your server or your addons — it plays what they give it. If you already have a source you're happy with, that's the point: keep it, and give it a player that does it justice. It's free, has no account, and doesn't track what you watch.
